Global Experiences

As an IB school, we create opportunities for students to understand our interconnected world firsthand. Travel at STS goes beyond tourism. Every trip connects to curriculum, builds skills students will use after graduation, and helps them see themselves as global citizens. Whether they’re applying French in Paris, studying ecosystems in the Galapagos, or touring universities across Canada, students return with experiences that change how they see the world.

Our three-year rotation ensures every student experiences travel close to home and far from it, building confidence, creating friendships, and showing them what’s possible.

The Power of Experience

We design trips with clear learning goals tied to curriculum. Language trips put students in leadership roles when they visit the countries they’ve been studying. History trips connect classroom lessons to the actual places where events unfolded. Science expeditions let students observe ecosystems and principles firsthand. On every trip, STS teachers and faculty travel alongside students, providing guidance and building connections that go beyond the regular classroom.

Students also learn to handle what doesn’t go as planned. Delayed flights, changing weather or unexpected detours teach flexibility and problem-solving that serve them long after graduation. Cultural awareness develops through direct experience as students navigate different customs and recognize that “normal” is based on context.
Every year, students have the opportunity to head out on trips designed to challenge, teach, and inspire.

Where Travel Takes Us

Adventures Near & Far

Our students have traveled to markets in Morocco, paddled through Canadian waters, toured university campuses nationwide, and performed on international stages. These photos capture just some of the experiences that make STS education exceptional.
