Our IB Advantage

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is an internationally-recognized academic framework that prepares students to be lifelong learners, with the insight, skills and self-confidence to succeed on a global level.

Elementary School

From Kindergarten to Grade 6, children grow and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment where inquiry-based learning is supported by technology-rich facilities. They engage in a well-rounded curriculum rooted in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), which includes art, French, music, physical education, and a wide variety of clubs and special activities.

Some of the most valuable lessons are learned outside the classroom. Our stunning rural campus broadens each child’s horizons while encouraging their natural curiosity, independence, and love and respect for nature — especially through our flagship Outdoor Education program. By challenging students to develop critical thinking skills, they are able to apply what they’ve learned to discover and reach their full potential in all aspects of life, both today and in the future.

Middle School

Immerse yourself in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), where learning comes alive through real-world context and cutting-edge technology. Our dynamic faculty fosters a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative exploration.

Experience the power of personalized education with a low teacher-student ratio, consistent homeroom groupings, and dedicated teacher-advisors. Forge meaningful connections while unlocking your full potential.

Dive into a comprehensive academic foundation covering math, science, English, and social studies, complemented by a rich blend of languages, fine arts, performing arts, design, and physical education, including outdoor adventures.

Senior School

STS Senior School students engage in an academic program of excellence which promotes inquiry, optimized technology, and prepares them for success in university and beyond. This includes the option to pursue a combination of International Baccalaureate DP courses and Alberta Education courses, or the full IB Diploma Programme.

Senior School students are also inspired to explore their possibilities through student-led clubs, athletics, speech and debate, outdoor education, organizing activities for younger students, fine and performing arts, the annual school musical production, local community service activities, and international service projects.

These activities, as well as our co-curricular programs, encourage students to develop a sense of civic duty, a global perspective, and empowerment through a variety of unique experiences.

STAND

STAND students engage in a flexible, academically challenging high school program designed for learners whose lives don’t fit a traditional school day. Through STAND Online and STS Flex, they can learn from anywhere, join live tutorials, and build schedules that balance academics with training, travel, work, or family commitments while staying connected to STS teachers and peers.

Students also have opportunities to extend their learning through co-curricular experiences such as clubs, leadership, fine and performing arts, outdoor education, and on-campus activities for those in STS Flex.

Personalized advising helps every student map a pathway that aligns with their goals beyond Grade 12. This flexible model develops independence, resilience, and strong time-management skills, preparing STAND graduates to thrive in demanding post-secondary programs and future careers.

Excellence & Community

Our students thrive because they are supported to do more, try more, and become more. These key differentiators are just the beginning, follow the paths to learn how each one shapes the STS experience.
