Grow With Nature

Our campus is more than a setting; it’s a living laboratory. The wild nature surrounding us isn’t just a backdrop, it’s an integral part of our curriculum. From the sciences to the arts, our students learn by doing, immersed in the natural world. Outdoor education is woven into the fabric of STS life, transforming our forests, pathways and rivers into classrooms to enhance students’ learning.

Active lifestyles are fostered on the 10kms of pathways, fields and ponds throughout the campus. Students can be found walking, cross country running, skiing, snowshoeing and canoeing. Whether it be for training, outdoor or physical education or to relax, our vast, natural campus lends itself to students building a healthy love for outdoor physical activity.

Campus Facilities

Inside, the curriculum comes to life in labs, dedicated studios and a full-size theatre. Student curiosity and imagination are sparked and realized with relevant technologies and up-to-date equipment everywhere.

Our newest expansion was a $24M STS parent and alumni fundraised 65,000 sqft Arts and Elementary building. The design challenges traditional notions for the classroom with moveable walls, learning pods, and functional furniture.

Inspired by Possibility

The story of STS has always been one of courageous vision and action. For over 100 years beginning with our founding schools, we’ve looked for fresh possibilities for a well-rounded, inspiring education – and made them a reality.

It Starts with a Learning Community

Moving into the new Elementary facility this past January has provided our community of students, educators and families with truly unique opportunities. The professional learning that our faculty embraced during the past years served us well as we transitioned from more traditional classroom spaces to a learning community model of education.

Official ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony mark monumental milestone at STS

Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School revealed its brand new $24-million, 100% donor-funded learning facility expansion on Friday, February 23 together with STS alumni, faculty, staff, donors and contractors.
