This is a friendly reminder that the community survey shared on March 2 will close this Friday, March 20.
Dear Members of the STS Community,
As you may recall from the communication on March 2, our Head of School, Dr. Carol Grant Watt, will be concluding her tenure at STS in August 2027. While thankfully we will still have more than a full year with Carol at the helm, this moment also offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our aspirations for the future and to help shape the next chapter of our school.
To ensure a thoughtful and thorough process, we have engaged an executive search firm and formed a Search Committee made up of dedicated members of our community. Our mandate is clear: to identify the strongest possible leader to guide STS forward. I will serve as the Chair and will be joined by the following individuals:
- Todd Worsley ’88 – Member, Board of Governors, and Alumnus
- Houston Peschl – Member, Board of Governors
- Mike Rose – Chair, Board of Governors
- John Mercury – Member, Board of Governors
- Judy Fairburn – Member, Board of Governors
- Nicole Egli – Faculty (Science), Middle School, and Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator
- Mike Hoang ’96 – Faculty (Grade 5), Elementary School, and Alumnus
- Gabe Kemp – Executive Director of Information & Educational Technology
As we begin this important work, your voice will be essential. We want to hear directly from those who know and love this school best – our parents, faculty, staff, alumni, leaders, and donors. To gather your insights, we invite you to complete a brief community survey here by Friday, March 20, 2026. Your perspectives will play a significant role in shaping the profile of our next Head of School, and we are grateful in advance for your participation.
In mid April, we will publish the advertisement for the Head of School position, and the Candidate Brief will be posted on our website for the community to view. The search will continue through the spring, and we are confident that our new Head will join us in the summer of 2027.
We are committed to keeping this process open and transparent and will share regular updates as our work progresses. At the same time, we trust you will appreciate that all information related to individual candidates must remain confidential within the Search Committee.
