The Tradition Continues

A Growing Network

Once an STS student, always part of the community.

Leaving campus doesn’t mean leaving STS behind. The connections made here, with classmates, teachers and the school itself, have a way of lasting. The STS alumni community brings together more than 11,000 people worldwide, offering a network built on shared experience, genuine relationships and a common foundation that continues to add value long after graduation.

Memories brought us together.

What keeps us together is beeing able to watch

each other grow.

Ways to get involved

Your STS experience doesn’t end at graduation. Whether you’re mentoring students or reconnecting at events, your involvement strengthens the community and opens doors for current students. We’d love to see you back on campus.

Share your professional journey with current students exploring their futures. Whether you’re offering career advice, hosting a job shadow day, or speaking to a class about your field, your real-world perspective helps students understand the paths ahead of them.

Once part of STS, always part of STS. Throughout the year there are plenty of opportunities to come back, reconnect, and see the school through fresh eyes. The annual Alumni Celebration each spring is our signature gathering, and events like Open House, Fall Fair, student concerts, and plays offer more chances to return throughout the year. Recent graduates can also look forward to the Young Alumni Pub Night each December. And if you simply want to walk the halls, catch up with former faculty, or see what’s new on campus, you are always welcome.

Alumni Awards

Every graduate carries the STS spirit forward differently. A surgeon advancing medical care. A volunteer transforming their neighborhood. An innovator solving problems. A mentor shaping the next generation. Excellence takes many forms.
Our alumni awards honour these different paths. We celebrate professional achievement, community impact, and lives lived with purpose and integrity.

Building Tomorrow through Genuine Sharing

Welcoming a First Nations Elder and Knowledge Keeper to our campus is a cornerstone of our commitment to reconciliation. It is creating profound opportunities for our students and teachers to learn, grow, and connect. This special relationship is a beautiful example of how Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS) is actively working towards a more equitable and inclusive society.Students in every grade, K-12, in a multitude of subjects and activities, had the opportunity to spend time with and learn from Saa'kokoto throughout the 2022-2023 school year. After a wonderful inaugural year, we look forward to continuing this beautiful partnership long into the future.

Inspiring Alumni | Ben Mercer ’95

Even though Ben Mercer ’95 is responsible for a walking path used by tens of thousands of Calgarians every single day, he admits that he didn’t see his own journey leading to a career in landscaping and construction.“I was a bit of a late bloomer and hadn’t figured out what I wanted from life by the time I graduated from STS. In high school, I worked for a landscape company, and then I went to the University of Calgary and studied philosophy for law.”
